Intellectual vs. Emotional decisions because they got into

Choosing between intellectual and emotional decisions is hard sometimes, especially if someone relies more on their emotion than their intellect or the other way around. A doctor is a person who must always rely on their intellectual decisions instead of their emotional decisions. They always have to make important decisions on what is going to be best for patients and not let their emotions get in the way. Doctors have to avoid having sympathy for patients because they have to do what is best for the patient and not think about how that patient might feel about being sick or having a deathly disease.

Doctors always have to be alert and they have to think about the cause and effects. An example would be a patient who needs to have surgery because they got into a severe accident and without the surgery the person could die. The doctor does not stop and think about how the person might feel about the situation, they just know they need to do the surgery in order for the patient to live. The doctor knows that doing the surgery will benefit the paients life, but he does not think about how the patient might be scared or how the patient might need some reasurrance that the surgery will go okay.

A positive consequence of relying more on intellect than emotions is always thinking things through and staying focused on what needs to be done. A negative consequence is coming off as rude and disregarding someone elses feelings. Also someone could become less sociable and less close to family and friends.

An example of when a person gets repeatedly rejected is when a person applies  to three different colleges and gets rejected by all three. The person applied to Ohio State, Youngstown, and Blueville University. She applied to each one a week apart. A couple months later she saw that the colleges had mailed her back. All three colleges had mailed her back in the same week and all three had rejected her.

She was devastated that she had not got accepted to any of the colleges she applied to. The person felt like a failure and began to think that she would never get into any college just because of the last three she got rejected by. She did not want to apply to any other colleges because she was afraid  that she would get rejected again. Eventually she got over being upset about the rejections and began to apply to colleges again. She ended up getting accepted to one months later.

This example shows a person getting rejected repeatedly by three different colleges. Her emotional response was being really upset and thinking negatively about herself  just because of the college rejections. She later realized that life goes on and that there were other colleges to apply to and just because she got rejected by the first three colleges does not mean that she will get rejected again.

Sorry it was late!!!

Personal Responsibility

Personal responsibility is accepting responsibility for your own actions and the consequences that come from those actions. Having personal responsibility means that a person can maturely respond to the various challenges and circumstances of their life. When people blame others for the choices they have made, they are being victims and blaming all their problems on someone else, and they are not accepting personal responsibility. I think people are responsible for determining who they are and how their choices affect their life.

Taking care of your health and emotional well being is also part of personal responsibility. It is important to
acknowledge  that you are solely responsible for the choices in your life. Also when people recognize that they are responsible for choosing the direction in their life and that they are repsonsible for how they choose to think or feel, will help them later in their future.

If something bad happens that involves me I choose to whether or not to accept some responsibility by whether I had a part in what happened. If I did not have anything to do with what happened and I was just there then I think I am not responsible. I am responsible for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, but not for the cause of what happened.

Blog questions

Some ways that people throughout the ages have explored the unknown is by taking journeys, learning new information, sailing around the world, reading historical books and journals.
I think people like to explore and discover new things because they are curious about what is out there. People want to explore so they experience new things and see the world and they want to discover so they can find interesting stuff  that has happened before in the past. People want to have knowledge about history and know what is going on. The sacrifices that people have to make when they have a devotion to exploring and discovering new things is leaving family, being prepared for having to go further if they do not find what they are looking for the first time, sickness, being alone, and danger.

I don't really think I did this right:(
